The process – Nick Bowker & Bowker Safaris
You have two options for handling your trophies:
Option 1:ย Dip and pack your trophies in South Africa, then have your own taxidermist complete the work at home. Dip and pack is a required chemical treatment for trophies entering the United States.
Option 2:ย Have the full taxidermy completed in South Africa and ship the finished mounts to your home.
For either option, you will need to decide which trophies you want as shoulder or pedestal mounts, which you prefer as European skull mounts, and whether you want any back skins or flat skins. Most hunters make these decisions at the end of their hunt.
We handle all field preparation and deliver your trophies to the taxidermist. This service is included in your package. Our skinners have extensive experience, and Timoland Taxidermy or African Wildlife Artistry collects the trophies after each hunt.
Timoland Taxidermy and African Wildlife Artistry ensure your mounts are completed to a high standard, monitor the progress, and confirm that your trophies are delivered safely.
The process – African Wildlife Artistry & Timoland Taxidermy
Our taxidermists work on an eight- to twelve-month timeline from the date of deposit and will update you throughout the process.
Please let us know how you want your trophies mounted, including whether the animal should face left, right, or straight ahead.
Also specify the type of pedestal you want (rustic or teak) and note any height limits for floor pedestals.
Our taxidermists use trusted shipping agents. Once your trophies are ready and delivered to the agent, the agent will email you the airfreight cost.
You can pay them directly, and they will arrange the shipment.
Please also email us the details of the clearing agent you will use in your country.
If you do not have one, we can send you recommended options for your clearing agent.
Confirm with your clearing agent whether import permits are required, especially for CITES-listed species.
